Leigh Patton Smith – Oklahoma City – First Moon Circles

Hello beautiful people, my name is Leigh Smith, and I am an art therapist, educator, and mother who has spent over 20 years walking alongside children and adolescents through many seasons of growth. I currently teach handwork at Back to Earth School, and also lead parent-child playgroups and therapeutic art classes at Peppers Ranch for foster children. My work is rooted in Waldorf philosophy, ritual arts and deep reverence for the rhythms of nature and the soul.
Moonbeam Art Circles are a mondern coming-of-age art circle for girls held in Oklahoma City and surrounding areas. It is a safe and creative space where girls gather in sisterhood to explore who they are becoming through:
Art Making & creative expression
Gentle Rites of Passage & Ceremony
Storytelling, reflection, and lunar wisdom
Building trust, beauty, and belonging
Each circle honors the changing inner world of girls as they grow- physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Together, we create space where every voice is heard, every phase of the moon(and self) is welcome, and every child seen in her unique becoming.
Let’s raise them in heartfelt rhythm-with art, wonder, and wise community.

MY STORY
Three years ago a friend introduced me to a book called Wild Power, Discover the Magic of your menstrual cycle and awaken to the feminine path to power. I was so excited to learn the wisdom of my own menstrual cycle and at the same time, in disbelief and disappointed that I had not been taught this valuable information earlier. After practicing menstrual cycle awareness for a few more years I realised the impotance of bringing this knowledge to young girls. I want to empower girls to recognise that their bodies are sacred and how to work with their own powerful energies for a more connected cycle experience.

Nóra Szőllősi – Budapest Hungary – First Moon Circles

Nóra Szőllősi is a First Moon Circle Facilitator in Budapest, Hungary
Nora is a 37 years old menstrual cycle awareness educator who lives in Budapest, Hungary with her daughter and husband. Her interest in menstrual cycles came after she spent a weekend with other women on a retreat that focused on this subject. She had a huge AHA moment, as she heard and understood the term menstrual cycle for the first time in her life, and she was already in her late 20’s. To say that she got interested is an understatement. She dove into the topic, found international online courses about menstrual cycle, one teacher and wise woman led her to the other.
That is how she ended up doing Claire Baker’s Cycle Coach School and got to know Charlotte Pointeaux. When she started to learn about her own cycle she had the idea of sharing her newly found passion online. That is how the Ciklus mesék IG profile came alive! It means Cycle Tales in Hungarian. People started to follow and the community grew organically but rapidly and now she has more then twenty-one thousand followers.
She’s holding workshops, circles and lectures to women and men about menstrual cycle awareness. By choosing this path as her work and passion she realised that it healed a long lasting transgenerational trauma in her family that was passed on from mothers to daughters. One of the biggest joys in her life is that her daughter is now raised in a period positive environment where she will get to learn how her body works and build trust in herself around it.
She strongly believes that without this foundation and the knowledge that menstrual cycle awareness provides the lives of menstruators wouldn’t be as full as it could be. That is why she is eager to bring this knowledge to the youngest, and help them build a positive connection with their mind and body! Her strengths are honesty and authenticity, she is not afraid to talk about topics that are naturally part of our lives, but still are considered as taboos.

Debra Pintley – Macarthur Region – First Moon Circles

Hi, I’m Debra Pintley. Over the years, as a doula and birth educator, I have studied the relationship between a woman’s experience of her menstrual rite of passage and how she experiences birth. This is one of the key reasons I am so passionate about guiding young women through one of their most significant rites of passage: their first period.
Through First Moon Circles, I provide a warm, welcoming space where girls and their parents can learn about puberty, self-care, and menstrual cycle wisdom. These circles are designed to empower young women with knowledge and confidence while fostering a deep sense of connection, ensuring they feel prepared and supported as they enter this new phase of life.

Jo Goddard – Brisbane QLD Australia – First Moon Circles

Jo Goddard is a First Moon Circle Facilitator in Brisbane, QLD, Australia. She is the founder of ImHER Women’s Well-being, a space devoted to helping women reclaim their joy, confidence, and connection to themselves. As a pleasure, intimacy, and sensuality mentor, certified Kahuna bodyworker, Reiki Master, and sexological bodyworker, Jo’s work blends deep care with a joyful, down-to-earth approach.
Her passion for supporting women began after her own journey of self-reclamation, and she believes these conversations should start early—long before adulthood—so girls can grow up feeling empowered, informed, and proud of their bodies.
Jo sees First Moon Circles as a powerful way to help young women and their mothers feel connected, confident, and open in talking about periods, body changes, and emotions. She creates a safe, nurturing, and joy-filled space where girls can learn practical cycle wisdom, ask questions without embarrassment, and celebrate this rite of passage as a beautiful part of growing up.
When she’s not facilitating circles or working with women, Jo can be found collecting sea glass along the waterfront at Margate, reading dark fantasy novels, or dancing in the kitchen with her three children while baking something choclatey.
