An empowering, fun, sacred and inclusive circle that goes beyond school basic, limited period education and focuses instead on cycle self-care and self-love so children feel prepared, informed, confident and supported to experience puberty and their first periods ~
This circle is 4 hours, the first 3 hours are student @ teacher based for exploration of ancient wisdom, art, and exploratory conversation. The last hour we have a beautiful ceremony that the Mothers will join to be of witness of their daughters offering blessings and wisdom of their own journey with menarche ~

Hello beautiful people, my name is Leigh Smith, and I am an art therapist, educator, and mother who has spent over 20 years walking alongside children and adolescents through many seasons of growth. I currently teach handwork at Back to Earth School, and also lead parent-child playgroups and therapeutic art classes at Peppers Ranch for foster children. My work is rooted in Waldorf philosophy, ritual arts and deep reverence for the rhythms of nature and the soul.
Moonbeam Art Circles are a mondern coming-of-age art circle for girls held in Oklahoma City and surrounding areas. It is a safe and creative space where girls gather in sisterhood to explore who they are becoming through:
Each circle honors the changing inner world of girls as they grow- physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Together, we create space where every voice is heard, every phase of the moon(and self) is welcome, and every child seen in her unique becoming.
Let’s raise them in heartfelt rhythm-with art, wonder, and wise community.
