My work as a Wild Feminine Cycle Coach weaves together menstrual cycle awareness, feminine embodiment tools and life coaching with a shamanic approach to women’s empowerment. I guide women through the deeply transformational journey of reclaiming their power, pleasure and purpose through the portal of working with the menstrual cycle and rites of passages, so they can embody and express their wild feminine magick in the world as a sovereign, sacred leader.
I founded First Moon Circles®, a globally-recognised facilitator training program which trains menstrual educators around the world to holistically empower, honour and celebrate children and their families at menarche (their first period). I lead a community of practitioners devoted to spreading period positivity into diverse cultures, communities and countries.
I’m mum to three daughters who I passionately hope grow up to have sacred, supported menarches and value their body and selves now and always. I discovered menstrual cycle awareness between having babies several years ago and felt mad that children aren’t being taught more than how to hide menstrual blood in school, and felt sadness and grief that I was mid-30s when I came across this, and learnt more about the massive importance of honouring rites of passage has on children’s lives.
I’ve made it my mission to create an incredible community of bad-ass women around the world, so collectively we can do our bit towards healing menstrual shame and create powerful period-positive cultures in individuals, families, schools and communities all over the world. Imagine!!
I am also your lead trainer in the First Moon Circle Facilitator Training so we’ll be getting to know each other well if you join us!
for effective processing and integration of your learnings, to practice holding space for each other, and to have a confidential and supportive sounding-board for your ideas and reflections as you move through the course.

As a mother of three kids myself, I designed the course to allow much flexibility to accommodate for parenting, work, and life!
There is no pressure to ‘keep up’ and no such thing as ‘behind’ and I really encourage and remind our trainees to honour their capacity at all times and to move through this course as you can.
I estimate the workload to be 5 hours of study and participation per module (6 modules total) which includes watching videos, listening to expert interviews, doing any practical exercises, attending a 90 minute group call and doing the module reflection.
Of course, this is an average and you may find it quicker or longer.
Note that this is self-paced. You may do this at once or spread it out over a longer period of time. There is no deadline on when the course needs to be completed. Reflections may be submitted at any time: as you go, or after the course, as works for you.
There is further reading for all modules which is optional extras.
This is a gentle, supportive course that respects the fullness of lives we lead.
The next round of the facilitator training will begin on 1st February 2024.
Applications open in October 2023 and places will be allocated on a first come first serve basis. Applications formally close when all places are filled.
I will personally read every single application form, and I will send you an email invitation to join us if we are a match made in heaven.
Your invitation will include:
Once these two actions are done, your place is officially confirmed!
We will then email you a welcome pack and some admin, so you can take your time to get settled in before the course kicks off in May 2023.
The training has evolved greatly from small beginnings and is now an extended 3.5 months course, allowing for in-depth learning, growth, personal development and certification.
Access to the learning platform and all course content continues after the live training ends, and you will have access for as long as First Moon Circles is in operation.
After this, you will be invited to join our graduate community where the support, learning and accountability continues.
To complete the training and graduate as a Certified Facilitator you are required to complete all study components including:
– Watching all module lesson videos,
– Completing any practical activities and tasks for each module,
– Completing the accompanying workbooks and submitting the reflective assessment for each of the 6 modules,
– Participating in the group calls, and where you cannot join live, to watch 6 x module call recordings, and share your reflections on the call theme in the Facebook group.
Once you have completed these components you will be eligible to apply for Certification. Once you are certified you will be issued your certificate, added to our Facilitator Directory and be ready to start holding your own First Moon Circles!
We move through the live course at a pace that offers you accountability and encouragement to complete the course. However we recognise that life happens and also, that as cyclical people, we may need some space away from study at different times.
Therefore after completing the live component of the course you are given a 6 month time frame to complete the Certification requirements to formally graduate from the course.
After the live course ends, there will be no further opportunity to participate in live calls but recordings will be available.
You must complete all 6 modules, 6 reflections, and various other study requirements to become a Certified Facilitator. Only upon Certification are you permitted to hold First Moon Circles, receive your certificate and claim to be a Certified Facilitator.
Yes!! If you already have a business – whatever you currently do – you will be able to offer First Moon Circles and call yourself a First Moon Circle Facilitator.
You will be given tools, templates, materials and resources to equip you to hold your own events but you are able to brand your circles marketing materials to match your own business.
Your events must be named First Moon Circles, and the content must include core content of a First Moon Circle, but there will be the option to tweak, adapt and add to the session content to incorporate your own modalities / practices / rituals eg meditation, art or craft, movement, or other aligned wellbeing practice suitable for children.
You will also be able to adapt the knowledge and content to create your own additional events, offerings and programs for other age groups, and in other formats, so you can grow your business from there!
You are so encouraged to join this training.
You will learn all you need to know about facilitating safer and inclusive menstrual education circles for young people, what legal and practical measures you need to take to do so, and how to promote your events.
We’ll support you with encouragement, inspiration and accountability to keep you moving towards holding your own Circles.
We have had facilitators in a previous round who had no business or event experience go on to hold their own Circles successfully and grow from there.
Different monthly payment plans of 6 or 9 month terms are available to support you to pay for your training costs, or you can pay in full, the choice is yours. Gender
All First Moon Circle Facilitators undertake training to learn to hold safer and inclusive circles that respect, honour and support parents and children who menstruate.
We acknowledge and honour that not all people who bleed are girls / female identifying, and that not all girls and females bleed.
We aim to hold as safe a space as possible for children to learn how to care for their body, emotions and spirit through menarche. As facilitators we want to support all families and create a period positive world.
We bring this into the First Moon Circles events with an awareness that children who may not identify as female may still experience menstruation, and may have a complicated relationship with their period, their body and the concept of becoming a woman. We openly seek to learn to best support parents and children to access the knowledge and support they need to understand menstruation, puberty and menstrual cycle awareness and are open to discussing with families the support they need.
It is our highest wish and intention that if children who identify as Non-Binary, LGBTQIA+, Transgender, Gender Queer or otherwise gender diverse wish to learn about menstruation and the process of puberty (and they will menstruate) that this knowledge and support be available to them.
First Moon Circles are primarily for people who will or already are menstruating. However, circles are increasingly being adapted and offered to teach this knowledge to people who will never menstruate, including boys, dads, and beyond.
Identity and Culture
We acknowledge that Black, Indigenous and People of Colour may experience menstruation differently to the experience of white people, including more significant and earlier onset of symptoms, and may also experience difficulties relating to being heard, validated and supported. We acknowledge that traditional cultures may celebrate their own menarche rituals and we intend for First Moon Circles to complement those rites of passage celebrations.
Period Poverty
We acknowledge that for many people, easy and affordable access to period products is not an option, and we seek to support participants to obtain plastic, toxin, and chemical-free period products where possible. We may be able to offer concession pricing to eligible persons to their First Moon Circles.
Yes, we offer 2-3 x half-fee scholarships per training round.
All applications are considered and offers are made based on merit (a combination of eligibility, need, commitment to participating in full, and your vision for using this course for social activism in your community).
Potential recipients may identify as any of the following:
Black, Indigenous or woman of Colour,
LGBTQIA+
Live with disability, neurodivergence or chronic illness
And are experiencing significant financial hardship
Scholarship applications open 1 month prior to the next training round commencing for a period of 2 weeks. In 2023, Scholarship applications open on March 26th for one week only. To receive notification of when scholarship applications open, please join our email waitlist here
Applicants who meet the eligibility requirements may then be invited to attend an interview with Charlotte before places are confirmed shortly thereafter.
If at the time of your application the scholarship has already been offered for the next training round you may be kept on the waitlist for the next available round if eligible.
Places on the training are limited and by application only. Spaces will be offered to those on the waitlist first.
As part of your signing up you are required to sign the facilitator licensing agreement which includes Intellectual Property and Copyright protections. The full agreement will be available to read before purchasing your place in the course when applications open. A summary of these clauses is as follows:
Upon completion of the training you will receive rights to use the Intellectual Property shared with you in this training course to hold your own First Moon Circles and the IP is not to be repurposed for any other offerings or shared, distributed or sold onwards.
You must use the event name “First Moon Circle” when organising, promoting, sharing, and hosting your own events and you are not permitted to re-name your event. You are however permitted to create your own events in a different format for other demographics and name it as you choose.
Upon completing the training you secure the right to be known as a First Moon Circle Facilitator, and will be included on the Facilitator Directory and social media.
You are welcome to adapt the First Moon Circle lesson plan which you’ll receive as part of the training, to personalise your event and bring your own experience, modalities, passions and personality to your offering. There are, however, core components of the events which must be included to ensure that all First Moon Circles are consistently a powerful and empowering experience.
You must print and provide each participant at your event with a colour copy of the First Moon Guide, a 22 page resource which adds incredible value to your events and participants. These booklets capture all the information you might cover or not have chance to cover in your First Moon Circle, so they are a keepsake for the participants.
You will receive lifetime access to the First Moon Circle Facilitator Training content as delivered to you in the version of the training you sign up for.
You do acquire the ability to use the knowledge gained through this training to create related offerings to support other groups of people including: older girls, women, fathers, sons, in schools, and online. If you work with the same age group as First Moon Circles support (aged 9-12) your circles must be called First Moon Circles.
